There is a way round this peter, i done an install on a friends mk v golf before with the standard head unit. If you go to halfrauds you can but a lead which gives you a pre - out. You would need two of trhese for two rca's. If you go to your nearest astore ask them for the lead which connects the the speaker wire from the back of your factory head unit and gives you a rca output. It's really easy to intall and should take you about 10 mins. Ask them for a packet of blade clips as well as they come in handy when doing it.
