Hey everyone, New here.

I have just purchased a 2001 VW Polo MkV and I pick it up Saturday.

Was basically just wondering about a few things;

Mainly, I plan to fit CL and a Remote alarm to the car, and was wondering what the easiest way around the transponder chip was, without just taping it to the ignition ring? Is there an easy way of getting the chip out or will I need to saw the keys apart?

Next, When looking at the car I noticed that there might have been some condensation in the indicators on the side wings of the car, Are these hard to replace? and where can I buy them? I have looked on ebay but they look like they might be of a poor quality :(

Nearly done :), I also have a sub that I will be fitting to the car. Just so I know when I come to it, does anyone else know where the grommit through to the engine is? and how hard it is to pass a cable through?

Finally, The clutch can be adjusted so I'm told. Could anyone explain how this is done?

Many Thanks

Dan

welcome mate,

here's a quick guide on one of the central locking kits which i done...

http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... al+locking

The immobiliser chip can be taken out of the key with a small flathead screwdriver. The casing just unclips, but then you have to find the smallest of flathead screwdrivers to get the immobiliser chip out.

For adjusting the clutch there is a nut and bolt with a cable, to one side of the engine you should be able to spot it if you have a proper look around.

The rubber gromit to the engine is on the passenger side, but has very little/ hard access from the footwell. I suggest pushing the wire through from the engine side pointing downwards and then you should be able to find it in the passenger footwell with a bit of feeling around for it with your hand in awkward places.

Hope that helps,

Haris

Thanks

Yes, I'm sure that will help, Thank You.

Will check out the guides!

So there is no need to be sawing the transponder out? I have heard thats the only way as the key I have looks fairly solid.

Will give it all a go when I pick the car up Saturday haha.
