what is the max drop befor rubbing????? im running 195/45/16

What's the width of the wheel? What's the ET? (offset) What brand of tyres? How firm are your shocks?

Thing is, you can drop the subframe on the floor using a good set of coilovers. That tyre size isn't helping though (too high) and the bottomline is: it depends.

If you have coilovers, or are getting some in the near future the answer is simple: Drop it till it rubs, there's your answer.

If you're going for a static set of springs and shocks, then there is no answer, there are just too many variables.

What did you have in mind?

im looking at a set of FK coilovers or spax. im not sure what the offset is but im running yokohama A539's

If you're getting coilovers, only trial and error will answer your question.

I've dropped my car (a lot), and I can't tell you how much it is in mm's; it just looked good. It rubbed some on the front wheels, had the tracking done (more negative than usual) and it was fine again.

It's all a matter of trying, seeing what holds you back, fixing that and then trying again. If you find that those tyres are too big, replace them and go lower. Or, keep em and go higher.
