I have a 1999 polo 1.4i that goes perfectly in dry weather and as soon as the wet season starts it jerks and stutters when accelerating. After the sequence of events it refuses to start. I have changed the plugs, leads, distributor cap, fuel filters, and sprayed the electrics with a water repellant spray - no success in easing the problem! Any ideas?

first thing wrong place for a 1999 polo this is for mk2F or mk3's u have a mk4 6n, and have you got an air filter in it ? if water is going through the intake and into the cylinders it will shudder, water doesn't compress.
