Windscreen Wipers Don't Turn Off in my polo

Hello! Just bought my first Polo this evening. A 1.0litre P Reg - 1996.
The guy I bought it off said the windscreen wipers had stopped working 2 days ago front and back.
Bought the car, got it home, changed the fuse and they worked. YeY! However, they now don't turn off! Bit of a sneeky seller I think.
Anyway, is this something do do with the wiper switch? Has anyone had the same problem before and is it going to be expensive to fix?
