June PhotoSHOP Competition - SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT??

Post by Gra-GT »

Hi all

For this months competition I thought we could do something a little a different. As the last couple of months have been a bit quiet, in terms of number of people entering, I thought we could freshen things up. :D

Now this might be a crap/stupid idea and will completely bomb, but thought we could do with a break from the normal 'Chops'

I thought maybe we could do a Signature Picture Competition

Almost everyone on here has a signature pic, so we should get a few entries.

The Rules

Please enter what you believe is your best/favourite signature pic
Your entry must be your own. Not a picture you have got from Tinterweb, but one you have created/taken yourself
The picture doesn't neccesarily have to show your car, but be something you would use in your signature
Your entry doesnt have to have been photoshopped, you can use just an original image - but being a photoshop competition voting may favour photoshopped pics
You can use your current signature, old signature or make a new one, its up to you!

Sorry if you think this is a crap idea, but I wanted to try and freshen things up a bit , but we'll see if we get many entries........please!!!

i think this is kinda crap cause some sigs have cool effects and everything but the car is understated...people could have diffrent cars which might swing votes, where as the same base pics dont?

Hmmm, might be worth a try for a bit of a change...if it doesn't work, then we can always go back to normal chopping next month?

...as long as people don't vote according to the car in the signature, but the finish and the work that has gone into the sig overall. :)

Yeah its only meant to be a one time thing, will be back to normal next month. Was just trying to get some more people into it, rather than just you me and Josh every month

And yes, I will be saying when voting comes around (if we have any entries, come on people  ) that its about the picture/creativness/photoshopping quality that they should be voting on

Just a suggestion that maybe the voting thing could be placed in the club house?

I've thought about that before, but to be honest I dont think it will make much difference. Last months voting thread had well over 100 views, but only 9 or 10 votes. Also the photography thread is still going strong, with plenty of entries and votes, but then that will appeal to a wider range of people.

I think alot of people have just lost interest tbh :(

No probs mate, appreciate the suggestions.

Infact a little later in the month I may ask for requests for donor cars or something to help get more interest

the rule:
'Everyone who entered a chop this month must vote for their favorite - those who don't may have their entry removed'

i kindof got the impresion from the wording of this that you can only vote if you have entered. maybe i just dont read properly

it's hard doing p'chops on a laptop with no mouse lol

Hmm, I hope everyone wasn't thinking that. It never even occured to me, but then I knew what I was saying.

It never seemed to happen before, as we have often had people voting that didn't enter. Same wording goes on the Photography comp, and that gets plenty of votes from people that didn't enter.

I may change the wording next time just encase

Does the sig have to be a jpeg image?
Just wanted to clarify as some people use moving/animated images such as .gif files?
