Just bought a 1.0e 6n2 and I have a few problems with it.

It is a 2001 Y reg with 41k miles.

Engine is making a whirring noise which speeds up when accelerated. Seems to be from one of the belts. Apparently the water pump needs done - could that cause this? Planning on getting water pump and timing belt done this week.

The heater is only blowing our cold air - any ideas? The car gets up to running temperature fine and isn't overheating.

What kind of whirring sound is it? Does it get louder as you speed up and decrease as you slow down? And its definitely coming from the engine bay?
