Sidestrips have holes behind them that need to be filled if removed. And the bumper strips have complete alcoves that need filling. It's not as simple as the 6Ns where you just heat up the glue and scrape it off!

The Polo lettering is just stuck on yeh. Best way to get it off is cut the sticky foam that holds them on with a guitar string or fishing wire. Then use a combination of heat WD40 and AG tar remover to get the residue off

The rear strips have a tendency to snap when being removed, and the side strips will require total rear stripping of all the foam, as will the car bodywork otherwise they will never stick back on properly.

If you can afford it, get the primered ones from a VW dealer or Vag Parts as its hassle to remove and get them sprayed otherwise.
