My MK3 Cupra R

Post by neale »

After owning my silver Polo Gti for just over a year i took the decision last November to sell up

Old Gti :-

Milltek cat back system
FK coilovers

Cupra R oz's refurbed in anthracite
Leon Cupra R splitter

I have had no major problems in the 7mths of owning her...the only thing thats went wrong is that i had to replace the maf sensor a month or so ago and replaced the clutch/flywheel as the standard 1 started slipping

Originally i had my heart set on an imp blue cupra but the 1 i was calling up bout the owner never answered my calls....so after buying the R i joined up to SCN and it was there that i realised that shantybeater a fellow member of uk-polos had bought the cupra i had my heart set on!

I loved my Cupra R, had red 51 plate which i still see and am now friends with the lad who bought it off me, it will be at international in the show and shine on sunday. I was also out for an imperial blue one but found this one at seat in leeds near the airport, was working for Porsche at the time and it was part of the group i was working for. didn't ever expect to get an R because of how rare they are.

do like the yellow over the antracite wheels and it sits spot on.

Thanks for all the comments guys...yep there was officially 75 R's came to the uk and th majotity were Onvi yellow iv recently heard there is only around 50 left due to write offs etc

Just wish Seat had spent more time on the Ovni yellow paintwork as it fades so much....and no matter how often you polish it its still noticable....so possibly looking into gettn her resprayed at sum point

250 right hand drive ones where made world wide and yes only 75 made it to this country. when they where handed over brand new the owner should have got an individual key ring with a number on denoting its own number out of the 250 but i never had one
