can the black bump strips be removed on the doors so there just on the front and rear bumpers?

I'm afraid not mate

They are only removable easily on Mk4s.

On Mk5s they are bolted in im afriad

You can do it, look:

It's just there are holes behind them which will need filling/welding.

Quite a pricey job
