Hi There iv just bought a mk4 1.4 8v polo and im looking at alloys. my question is, how do you work out the sizes cos i dont have a clue.
I really like these alloys:

i kno theyre 15" but i dont know wat the et35 bit is. can someone advise me as i want an alloy that will stick out of the arches. Do i need spacers for this?
Cheers

Well they'll fit, you'll want a 45 profile tyre so your speedo wont be out. so for example the tyres may be 195/45/15. Not sure on spaces. Nice wheels mate.

PCD = 4x100
Offset (ET) = 35-38 (only a recommendation)
CentreBore = 57.1mm
J = Width of the rim
The PCD is the stud pattern your polo's hub has. If the rims PCD is different then you could get adaptors or use wobbly bolts to get the fitment right.
The offset is how much the edge of the rim sticks out from your arch. The lower the offset, the more it sticks out.
The CB is basically the centre hole in the rim, which sits on the exended bit on your polo's hub. All vw cars have the same CB. If its larger you could use spigott rings to make up the difference. If its smaller you'll need to machine the CB bigger.
J is basically the width in inches (I think!).
Hope it helps and the measurements given at the beginning is what your polo's fitment is.
