right on the rear bumper tere is 4 rivet/ screw things, i was wondering is there a proper way to get these off? as i had to remove my bottom part for a quick respray( as some nugget with an aygo hit me) and im getting a 16v rear soon so wanted to kno if there is a right way?
i tries hitting one of them but it didnt budge, any help would be good :)

BTW ive already took the side ones off near the mudflaps etc and just need the 4 rivets removed.

Cheers

if its like the little plastic things im thinking off then what you have to do is push the center tube out. If you clean one up and see a small circle shape in the middle then try pushing it through, but make sure you catch and keep both the tube and the claw shaped thing.

Ive just gotup sdorry if this isnt much cop!

Hey mate, are they the 4 bolt looking things inbetween the crash bar thingy? If so, remove the crash bar to get access and then use a spanner to twist them off. The have the shape cut into the plastic, just keep twisting and they will drop off, even though they look like they aren't.

Hope that helps,

Daz

i think its the crash bar bit... its where the boot meets the bumper... just under the wee rubber seal bit for the boot, four spaced out rivet things... just so i kno how to get a 16v bumper off for tomoro... well today now, but yea tried twisting my old one but nothing im afraid... even tried whacking it with a hammer etc. i kno polos are meant to be tough but f*ck sake come how hard is it t remove a bumper :P lol :)

al try the twisting thing first... if nothing then the popping the middle bit
cheers guys, i shall write back up once i have managed to get it off, and shall tell u all the magic way of removing it :), damn i need some sleep lol
cheers agen lads

get a picture up of these bolts as im still nto sure where you mean.

If you mean directly under the boot lid then its 4 torques screws. If you mean in the wing arch its the plastic poppy things that i went on about earlier.If you mean the funky plastic screw things on the inside then just yank, there s**t anyway.

sanded it down and primered it... gonna spray it myself see how it turns out... shall get pics up of the steps i went through, see what you guys think... see if its a decent job lol..

right finally got round to putting pics up... this is how i sprayed my bumper :) any extra advice is welcome :) now some pics;

sanded it down firstly;

then primered it;
Image
close up;
Image

then two coats of red paint, flash red :) ;
Image
and yes it does look dull;
Image

then some gloss, think this was two coats :);
Image
another with gloss;
Image

while tht was drying took old bumper off... screws where knackered as previously mentioned but drilled them out, it was the only way thread was fcuked on them :( ;
Image

then with bumper on car :) ;
Image
and another;

so what do you guys think? remember it was myself.. no painting qualifications... and in my back garden.. :P lol so verdicts... it does look much better... and in some lights cant notice the differense in colour but in some its quite noticable :)
