Caps take two seconds to take off. The washer fluid and coolant I drained before hand, because I did the bottles also. The power steering and brake fluid i wrapped tightly in cling film to stop air getting in whilst they were off, as I heard moisture can get in and cause a nuisance

I drained it fully, as it needed changing anyway. So I first removed the bottom pipe which connects to the radiator, and caught all the coolant.

Then poured water into the bottle so it came straight out of the bottom pipe. did this for around 10 litres, just til the water coming out was completely clear.

Sprayed the parts, then put the tank back on and the pipe back on at the bottom.

Put my coolant in (40% anti-freeze, 60% water) til just under the normal limit. squeezed all the pipes, turned the car on and wacked the heaters on full whack. Leaving the cap off.

After 10 mins of it running like that, squeezed the pipes further, topped up with water if necessary. Then took it for a spin

When the engine had heated up, just checked the fluid again, squeezing the pipes again.

Then just monitored it over the next few daysm just to be sure.

What does squeezing the pipes do mate? sorry if its a obvious question!

May need your help when i come to do this!

did you reuse the coolant you poured out originally?

Squeezing the pipes helps circulate the fluid, and helps to pop any air pockets in the fluid.

No I used new coolant. You may aswell do a coolant change whist your at it!
