Ok bare with me as my electical knowledge is non existant. I would like to have some sort of lighting in my boot and perhaps in the driver's and passenger footwells. My main objective is the boot. Basically i need ideas of how to wire them so they're not permanently on. Yes a switch does seem like a wise idea but what if i forget to switch it off?? Is their anyway of wiring it up so dumb idiots (me) don't leave them going when the car isn't being used??
Josh if you read this how do yours work in your boot build??
And if you need to know i've got a 9n.

Mine works off a relay that is switched on when I turn my stereo on.
Have a look on the Talk Audio forum for details (or ask at a car hifi place if electrical things really aren't your thing).

The remote lead goes into my relay (after going into a splitter block) and that "switches" the relay on and off.
HTH?

Well that's ok because as soon as you said relay i figured out how to do it all, as luckily i got some knowledge from fitting my fogs!! In the process of doing it now, i'll let you know if it goes all wrong

Well that's my effort for this evening, i've spent my time doing this than an assignment so i'd better start doing that now!! My little effort maybe noticed to the left of the sony block thing (can't remember what it's called right now) and to the right of the left speaker!! Haven't tested to see whether it works yet, shall do that tmw!!
