Alloys

Sorry guys for the amount of questions I am asking at the moment :P

I would like to at some point change the alloys on my polo. I feel the bog standard 13" ones are just somewhat inadequate.

the only alloys I have seen that I like so far are the ones they put on the new Golf Gti's and I was really wondering if anyone knows if they do a size smaller than 17" as I have been looking and found nothing :(

(Something like this, without the scuffs and the size :P)

The ones on the new gti have a different PCD mate, they are 5 stud and our polos are 4 stud. The pcd is 4x100.

I think 17" is a tad too big really mate, your gonna get scrubbing issues if you lower it.

When i had my 15"s first put on (dont u dare copy lmao), i thought they looked tiny. But now its slammed they fill the arches really nicely.

Dubmiester have a good range of alloys, if you speak to Simon, he will sort you out ;)

16" is a goodish size for polos if u want big rims mate, but i think ppl will agree, 17" is fat too big to get a good look

For some reason your pic appeared on the topic after i posted...........weird

As far as im aware you cant get Monza alloys in anything below 16" (16" on the new polo gtis?) and again like i said they are 5 stud mate, and im not sure you can get adaptors for them

Hmm.. have you seen anything with a very similar design to the gti ones that would fit?

I don't want massive ones, just a bit bigger than 13", so maybe 15's. I would like to maybe one day lower the car slightly, but not loads as there are some pretty violent speed bumps on the entrance to my work which almost bounce your car :o

Don't worry I don't want the same wheels as you :P I want something different

lmao :D in time I will. does it affect insurance premiums? slamming I mean :P

also if I am "slamming", I don't want it stupidly low or grinding etc, would 60mm be too much? or would that give it a nice look while retaining the practicality?

Yea 60mm is a nice hiehgt mate, practicaly and still looks good

I declared my alloys and coilovers on my insurance and it added 130 quid mate so not really alot, i was really suprised!

Hmm.. well my insurance costs me about £96 a month as it is (fully comp on my own insurance with 0 no claims lol... long story, direct line fobbed me off with named driver no claims discount)

Ok, well when I have some time and money, I will look into lowering it, although I should probably get some nice alloys first :)

No!!!!

Lower it first mate trust me

For starters its cheaper than alloys if you fit the coiovers urself and a car doesnt look right with decent alloys without bein lowered, mine looked odd with the new rims before i slammed it
