How to open the bonnet if the cable is disconnected?

Hi All
Bit of a problem. My mates polo has the bonnet release cable disconnected. How exactly do I make the bonnet pop open to replace it?

Only kidding Alex. I'm going down to VW's in the week as might have a leak in my tailgate so i'll ask them, see if they've got any tips.

think if you take th badge out alex you can get through that way to prise it open

How did you get on. Have you tried it that way. Thats all the fella at VW could suggest.
