More of a bodyshop job that to be honest mate.
Unless you have a plastic welder and you good at it then i wouldnt attempted it

better safe than sorry

exactly my point. its how i did it originally but now the filler on the rear is coming apart so im gonna remove it and wanna redo it using a seperate method like if i put fibre glass in the gap then i light skimming of filler or another way like cutting the indent bit of and putting fibre glass across it at the back then filling the front with body filler.....
thats why i wanna know about other ways....... gonaa get a body shop to spray it just wanna do the smoothing myself.
wat i was gonna do is put strips of mesh in the gaps then fill over with filler so it reduces the chance of the filler shrinking.

i would have thought that the best method you mentioned would of been the fibreglassing

u dnt need a plastic welder use sum JAM basicly liquid fiberglass get taht to a reasonable level then mix ur filler with the fiberglass no get the level and a final coat of just smothing filler will do it perfect and very unlikly it will crack unless u give it sum bosh makes sure u scuff the area up with 80 grit or alike to make the glass stick
