hi all.

had a new clutch about 2 months back. all was fine for 1st month. now when i come up to junctions and press clutch, it stalls. herd from another thread that it could be the throttle body needs cleaning. gonna give it a try in the morning.

the problem now is that the gears crunch a little everytime i change. worst is down gearing (nightmare).

also my far side window goes down fine but when going up gets slower and slower then stops about 5 inches from top where i have to push it. there is a scratching noise when this happens but no marks on glass. had the door card off and all looks fine (still on runners) it just stops. occationaly it will go all the way up slowly (and i mean like once in the space of 2 months). no idea what is wrong with this.

any tips would be very helpfull

windows, try spraying some lube down the runners. my car family it is a common fault and an easy fix. it sounds like its jsut stickin abit on the front runner

as for clutch it sounds like it isnt fully dissengaging when u press the pedal, might be a cable that needs adjusting, id say take it back to the garage and see what they can do for ya

There's two seperate issues which could affect the car.

1. If your clutch doesn't engage properly it could be causing your car to stall. This would explain why its difficult to engage gears.

2. If the revs go nuts whilst coming to a stop and your pressing the clutch then thats the irratic revs issue everyone talks about. Look it up, theres hundreds of posts about it! With this issue there's several culprits so you have to use trial and error from cheapest to most expensive.

got the stalling problem fixed. sprayed some carb cleaner in the throttle body and gave it a good clean. also cleaned out air filter and de greased it. works a treat now. no longer shoots down to low revs when clutch is engaged. just a slow decrease of revs to idle. thanks for advice. will do windows next

any1 know why my gearbox could be leaking oil. ive been told it could be a scratched linkage between my gearstick and gearbox that pulls little amounts of oil out each time i shift

any suggestions helpful

Could be any of the internal parts or joints between the two. Mine leaked oil as the casing was cracked as well as the selector seel.
