components or coaxials??

alright fellas need some advice... im running a standard gamma unit ( i know!) but i'm quite happy with it in terms in terms of volume, bass/treble adjustability... problem is standard speakers are not quite up to the job and keep poppin! i've replaced em all once with with identical ones from the scrapyard, was happy at first (especially as they were tenner for four!) till they went again!
so i'm looking to get something that at least won't pop! not after anything spectacular as its still standard headunit, was loud enough as standard don't wanna wake the neighbourhood! just don't know whether to go for coaxials or components?
are components much better than coaxials? i like the idea of them but don't wanna be drillin new holes for the tweeters, can aftermarket ones fit behind exisiting location for them? i know coaxials are much easier to install...
my knowledge of ICE is nil so any advice much appreciated! all i know is size i need is 6.5 inch (165mm) and i wanna replace all four... budgeted about £100 which seems alright after having look around online... just don't know where to start in terms brand and spec?? any recommendations??
