Another new project for those who followed the last...

After completing and selling off the little bike powered race car..
I figured I might as well use some of the capital on a new project...
Saw this on a classifieds site one evening and instantly regretted looking at the photos and had to buy it...
Its such a nice looking car with some interesting features...
Was rebuilt 15 years ago with a full body off repair....and painted red....Now it has been returned back to its original blue color...
Was stripped cosmetically for a respray.....resprayed and then the company went bust, so the car has sat for 5 years gathering dust...
TVR 2500M.....2.5Litre straight 6!!!
...
The plan now.....clean it up, paint the rusty bits...re-wire and possibly retrim inside...and then reasemble with lots of new shiny bits....oh, and then go create some Co2 the best way I know how!!:D

Actually no.... From what I have seen tonight it doesnt look too bad under the body, its just covered in a lot of dust and grime....
Just needs all the bits cleaning/fixing and putting back on again....wont take me more than a week to build a new wiring loom for it...
Im reconing 2-3 months depending on how much motivation I have, and how much luck I have finding some of the more obscure parts that are missing...

For those that find these amusing... An update...
The car is almost complete... Its had a full front end rebuild with polybushes, a paintup at the back.... The sunroof hole has been filled and the interior re-trim is almost complete...
And today I got the engine to run for the first time in 8 years!!!
Some pics:
Engine bay a few weeks ago
Sunroof----- GONE!
Wiring in progress this week:
Engine start....2.5L straight six...most definitely smother than the GTI engine!
Hoping to have it on the road for Xmas and the new year

I laid up 3 layers of chopped strand mat on a sheet of glass...
Once its set I had a nice hard but flexible sheet... I glued that over the hole from inside the car...
Then filled the recess from above with more fibreglass and finally filler...
You cant notice the hole... its just the joins in the paint that you can see :p

Ha i see m8, did u spread ur filler all over the area or just th hole as such???

Over the hole and the area around it... then sanded it all smooth...
Before I painted it, it looked perfect... its just the new paint is not the same colour as the old...so it shows....
Going to have to get the roof proffesionaly sprayed at some point when I can afford it.....but for now..its watertight!

It was an ex Formula 750 car.... Designed for a reliant robin engine...
Not going to go into details, but I made a few quid on it... Then again, given the amount of work I put in, I recon I only made about £3 an hour for the time I worked on it!
The joys of being single eh... plenty of time to get on with such things... Having said that, I have the attention span of a donkey so I can usually only manage an hour or two at the most at a time before I start to make mistakes...
