Hi all

I have a 1999 V reg 1.4cl Polo, its done about 58000 miles. I have noticed for the past couple of weeks that when i come to a junction or a corner in low gear and go to turn, the engine cuts out and the battery light comes on and i have to re-start it. Happened a few times a week and basically i just started it up and it didnt really bother me.

tonight however it did it a few times and unlike before it took about 7 attempts to get it to start.
It feels like when you go into low gear that its always trying to cut out, ie it shudders and it will either be ok of just cut off.

I have just tried to start it again and it took about 5 attempts to get it to go (it started ok but just kept cutting straight back out.)
its always always started first time in the past. Also once your going in a high gear its fine and drives perfectly

I know its hard to diagnose on here but does anyone have any idea on what this could be??

Oh and one more thing the last time it did it the power steering seem to go as well, so i am a bit worried, after reading this forum i am sensing it could be the throttle body needs cleaning, could this be it??

Thanks

Chris

I had this with my 03 polo and it was the egr valve that was causing the problem. Get a diagnostic on it and see if it brings any faults up.
