Just the metal reinforcement inside the seal thats rusting - nothing serious.

Happened to mine, they replaced it, job done.

Happened to mine as well. Vw replaced the whole seal which sorted the problem.

Doesnt take long if they've got the parts in stock - best give them plenty notice if you want it done before the weekend!
