ok i have a few small changes planned for my polo but need little help in how to go about doing it

i want to:

*
clear front indicators black smoked side and black rear lights
how easy is it to change these, i looked at the side repeater and im guessin it jus pops off with a little help ...

*
change the aerial - alll the rubber around the base is worn and shabby is it simple to remove the aerial again i have had a look at it but cant see how to get it off

*
i already have a carbon/silver momo gearstick and was going to get a similar handbrake, how would i go about taking off the old handbreak and fitting new 1 or would i need to find the replacement and then show you?

Front indicators are literally each held on with one screw, remove this then the lens slides out towards the front of the car, you will need to remove the bulb holder when doing this too, which just twists out.

Side repeaters slide out with a little effort!

Rear lights are held on by 3 bolts, remove the carpet from the sides of your boot and you will see these, unplug the loom and remove the bolts and the cluster will slide out, then simply fit the new one by bolting back on.

Haha we were all like that once bud! Just make sure to properly introduce yourself over in the Club House, and most of us have learned what we know from this community, so just try and stay an active part of it!

IIRC the ariel base is held on with a screw under your headling, removing that would mean unclipping all your plastic pillar parts to let the head lining come down so you can get at the base...

Everyone has to start somewhere!

Try doing a search in the DIY guides for some little jobs 9 times out of 10 someone, somewhere has been & done it!

Got to do my aerial base at sometime, got the bits, just haven't got round to it!!!

i had a good look today at it all but after looking i think jus a new screw in beesting aerial will do fine as the base is ok just the rubber around the stock 1 is falling apart so jus ordered 1 had great fun wiring in some 6x9's as well im not a big soundboy person but felt it was silly only having speakers in the front and thought a little balance was needed

I started out like that, untill i got in my mates golf, then that was it i was hooked...

I uprated my front speakers, added rear speakers 6x9's in the parcel shelf and a 10" ported sub.

And ive just baught a 12" to join it

yeh to be honest i v nearly went th route from the go but im pretty sure my headunit however funky it is with bluetooth in built isnt amp compatible (tbh i know nothing about audio stuff but its what i have been told) and as such i cnt really go over what i already have

Just find out the make and model number and hit it into google. Once you get like a spec list see if it has a "pre-out" which means you can hook up an amp to it. I think that's it anyway. I'm pretty sure if it comes with bluetooth etc that it would come with a pre-out. Most basic models in the "larger" companie's head units do. Deffo get stuck in yourself as well, I changed my front grill and rear lights as well as the gear knob/the little bit that goes underneath it. Nothing feels better than looking at your work after you've done it!

and yeh i have already started on the small changes put on a momo gear knob and bought a new grille, then had some paint blemishes from the muppet of a last owner who unkindly never seemed to wash the car like ever and even decided to use a paintbrush on a small scratch anyways its all looking better now the olny thing i really want to do is new wheels and lower it but due to insurance i cnt change wheel size which isnt a massive thing as wanted to keep it on 13's but i cnt lower it so am waiting out the remainder of the year till i can change providers

i just bought a new badgless grill

can some1 give me basic instructions to remove other etc i checked on DIY section but couldnt see it

No probs, with bonnet open, locate the four lugs at top of grille & one at bottom & release with a flat bladed screwdriver. 5 minute job!
