if i understood u correctly, are you saying that apart from sideskirts on the gti is there any other difference in design?

well yes there is a difference

the gti has fog lights and different front grills

also there is differences in the interior, such as the dash, etc

i have probably missed something so others can add

no i ment, were the wing joins the sill at the bottom, do the cars with sideskirts have different shape wings at the bottom so they meet the sideskirt flush, so if i fitted a wing from a car with sideskirts to mine, which hasnt got side skirts, will it stick out at the bottom

basicly the shells are all identical part from the five door version, these have two extra doors, lol

so the answer to your question is no

all the panels are the same, this include the bumpers, except gti have the headlamp washers cut out in them

the side skirts appartently part of the sill and cannot be easily removed unless you buy new sills and have these fitted, many ppl on here have asked if you can get a bodykit with the same style skirts, vw did a kit called vortex but this is no longer avaiable, if they do come up for sale they are mega bucks

hope this is of help :D

The GTi and 1L sills are much different. But I'm not entirely sure if it affects the front wings. I would've thought not.

yes it does Tim, the Wing goes right to the bottom of the car(sill) so in theory it wouldnt fit really

as i thought as the bottom of the wing makes up part of the sill
