I've decided it's time to turn my little 1 litre into the beast its meant to be, A mechanic friend of mine told me you can get conversion guides of the internet as he did for his ford puma and i was wondering if anyone knoew of one possibly for the polo to turn into the 1.8 turbo also does anyone know what kind of BHP i can expect?
Many thanks

Yep, definitely not a research, plug in a play kinda thing lol.
BHP figures can see 400 if your a tune freak, it's the 18.T so there's not alot of limits.

20vt turbo conversion is by no means easy. costom mounts/downpipe and driveshaft might be needed....the mounts definately need custom making, but polo gti driveshafts can be used (mk7 gti) as has been said in previous posts the skys your limit when it comes to getting power from the 1.8t, im running 280bhp with a simple remap but a lot more power can be had from this engine via bigger turbos e.t.c. the only problem with fitting a bigger turbo is that there isnt alot of room in the bay when the 20vt engine is fitted.

How much does an average 1.8T conversion cost? Without any 'mates rates' discounts etc..?

im currently putting a 2.0 zetec 130 spec into a mk2 fiesta at the moment, but as with all fords most parts are interchangable, i have a limit of £2000 including buying the car which was £500, i am up to £1200 at the mo, and have all the bits to finish it, just the paint and tyres for £800
so should be within budget
but with vw/audi/skoda/seat conversions its not quite that simple, as you need the clocks electrics custom made things etc...
so never that cheap
