VW cd player

I'm looking to buy the vw cd player to go with the beta unit in my car, i'm thinking of buying one off ebay and i was wondering if there were any other things i need, or should know. I was at a breakers today and he said that the cd player is coded or some s**t, i think he was either bull.s**t to get me to buy the cd player and the tape player or he was just mistaken with the actual tape player code

you can have my 9n2 cd player.
double din
so will take up normal tape player + tray above if you have the 9n
not sure about 6n's but it should fit them all really.

thanks alot but, i dont particuarly like those double din units. i just need to know what is needed to make the cd player work if and when i buy it.
Also does anyone know if would be worth investing in a gamma unit, does it have better sound reproduction than the beta?
