Air control lights

Hello fellas.

Now please forgive me am I’m about as technically adapted as a hedgehog that’s been badly mangled in some bear attack perhaps.

Well anyway, on my mark5 (6n2 I believe) polo, above the astray where you have the controls for the air conditioning, at night the lights don’t work anymore!!! Will it be the fuse?

Also! The rear wiper on the car won’t turn off. So the fuse has been removed but has anyone else gone through this and know how to fix it?

Any help would be very greatly appreciated. And don’t laugh at me! :P

Many thanks

Ash

for the wiper try pressing the end of the stalk again (i know it sounds daft)
as for the lights to gain access you need to prize off the surrounds for the heater dials then youll see 4 torx screws which you can undo to release the dial unit. you then need to prize out the lower switches ad the little cubbyhole thing and youll see some more torx which allow you to remove the piece of plastic that the first 4 went through.
it might just be a plug thats loose but when you find out what it is please tell me cos im in the same boat

the same happened to ours, but i just took the surround off, pressed a few connections and it started working again!

was a nightmare trying to change the heater settings in the dark!

Thanks for the advice but i think your under-estimating the technical ineptness of a badger badly mamed in a bear attack of some sorts lol!

Il take it to Walkden VW. Thats the same place that fitted me 2 new headlight bulbs because i couldnt get that bloody plastic thing off.

Ahem.

You can laugh at me now :P

Oh btw, Im getting some new alloys next week. Iv seen polos with 6spoke alloys and i think they look gorgeous.

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem, but i don't know if i can help because i don't have aircon. I spent about 2 hours taking the whole centre console apart looking for the bulb. After all that i found out that all you have to do is pull the centre control for power and the bulb will be expossed. Its very hard to pull out but it does come out.
