bad points mean an extra cost of around £250 so anyone buying will try haggling the price down but you could compensate for that.

In my eyes I wouldn't mind a car without tax BUT would prefer the seller to get MOT done incase there are faults. Having an MOT is a better seller as there are no concerns about the basic, which has already been checked out. So i'd advise atleast getting the MOT done for it.

If the car has a genuine FSH to accompany the car i'd offer around £800 for it atleast. Most of the mods you've done wouldn't price up the car in any way. If its a mint example and not like common polo's (scratched up, dents, faded colour etc) then you could value a car up slightly more.

How much did you pay for it?

Like yourself i'm thinking of selling my valver too but unlike you i've already spent ££££'s getting it sorted let alone more on modding and now i'm bored and want more power!!!

I paid 1400 for it from a dealer with a warranty.

Its a pretty nice example but I would say mint.. Its impossible with the cars age!

I'm not bored of it as such, I still love the car, and would love to keep it. I just need something a bit better on the long journeys, and I'm thinking of going eurotripping in jan... I just wonder whether Its better to sell it or tax mot service cambelt it then sell it.

If you want something different and better to travel in then sell up. If that isn't the main issue then i'd suggest getting all the service work done and selling 6-12 months down the line.

i just got a new mk5 golf 1.6, and the difference to drive is so much better, more road presence and just more comfier in general..
gave the polo to my dad, for a sorta short eriod then either selling it up or gonna lump in a audi engine re-trim everything and add power steering etc, all the comfort creatures, and see how it turns out :)
