Ordering my TIP today, so thinkin of gettin a N75J valve. Been readin thro other forums and sites bout this valve and it seems very mixed opinions. Seems to got overboost on a lot of cars and do more damage than good! What do u think??? :?

mine works fine with the mods i have, better than the original one anyway

i found a more hardcore feel to acceleration and its smoother how it delivers its boost

I did a golf 1.8t 150 the other day that had the J valve on and boost was perfect... no overboost.. just nice and smooth...

Yeah am gettin one Jeff, ordered ma TIP from Awesome too :) So will be fitting them this week hopefully :P

Its a more aggresive boost valve and smoother drive. Replaces the standard N75 valve. Its on ur TIP just after the DV. A was never too keen to fit one before with standard TIP and downpipe as it is known to thro car into limp mode so wasnt prepared to risk it, but now ave got intake and exhaust sorted am gonna get one :P

Following the ECU remapping of some 1.8 Turbo cars there can be an amount of surging as the car is prevented from over boosting. By replacing your standard N75 valve with the 'J' version this will overcome this issue and give a far smoother drive.

so it is not advisable to fit one before getting the tip?

That was just my choice mate as i heard it can overboost ur car and put it into limp mode so wanted to get intake and exhausted sorted first. Have a google about it mate, lots of info on the net bout them

oliver - there is no reason for you to fit a J valve.

dont you already have silky smooth boost ???

J valve will work fine with your version... its ok with less aggressive software you have.

try cranking the wastegate.. its free and will make more boost... but only crank it the smallest amount...

If you have aggressive boost and J valve there is a possibility at some time you will make more than the max boost limit.. the map sensor is setup to meaure 2540 mbar (ie 1.55 bar boost).. the aggressive file can make 1.4 bar with F valve.. put the J valve in and its possible sometimes to go past the limit... hence limp at 0.3 bar (slow)

Limp will clear on its own.... can take a few minutes.. or a few turn off/ons of ignition... but error will stay recorded.

Ecu just likes to protect the engine... which is no bad thing..
