Trying to fit a splitter to me E...
How do I go about removing the plastic fitted underneath the bumper? Do I need a Allen key or a screwdriver, and what size is it?
Thanks

wat splitter u putting on?
if its a standard one ur removing, assuming theyre all the same, its clips all along the bottom but a allen key screw each side that holds the arch lining onto the splitter. the clips arnt the easiest to get undone but bit of patience will sort it. then it just clips back in.
i got a gti one on my car now and taking the old one of, once u done the first clip it was easier then putting the gti one on was easier for me. some people been having trouble but i didnt.

Yea I'm fitting a GTI splitter onto mine, and the bottom most screw on the arch lining won't budge, trued numorous keys, and screw drivers and it's just eating the screw away

if u got n e wd40 could try putting that on there and leaving it for a bit and see if it helps or drill it out and then see about getting new screws or could try getting a screw extractor to get them out.

or a heat gun or hair drier would work too

I think it's siezed up

probably hasnt budged since it was screwed on 8 years ago. It dosent help when the screw drivers I'm using are slighty too big or too small

Gonna give the wd40 idea a go tho cheers

Yeh those arch liner torx screws are a nightmare. If it rounded off see if there's enough space to get a coping saw between the lining and splitter to just saw the head off. Then use mole grips to unscrew the thread,.

It's not rounded off, but when I was trying to unscrew it, it was just turning in the screw had, and was going to start rounding it off so I stopped

I'll give it another go as soon as the wether picks up, cheers for the help tho fellas

Just sort of fitted the splitter, what a nightmare! took about 20 mins to saw the moldey screw off the passenger side and then getting the original bumper tray off.
Got the splitter on, starting from the middle on and worked my way around from each side, but neither side will clip onto the bumper. Both the outermost clips, that are right next to where you screw the splitter onto the bumper, won't clear the bottom bumper so that I can screw it on

, It's all clipped on except for those the last clip on each corner of the splitter, it's really annoying me to say the least!

Had the same problem myself
I just thumped the last clip in while stretching the end with a screwdriver at the wheel arch. I wet all the clips with soapy water as I was fitting it, it might have helped a bit with the stretching
