i was just wonderin does the gti gain at all from having a de cat pipe on there? also will it make much difference to the sound of the car?

Better gettin a 2.5" downpipe mate and de-cat or hi-flow cat.

Decat is an MOT fail no?

Tuned cat is better

correct. larger downpipe and cat ftw

i have the milltek, however this is no longer in production, mine is a 2.75" downpipe and milltek sports cat, coupled to a 2.5" center section (resonated) then to the backbox

it sounds great, and really made a difference in punch, felt much more torquey all the way through the rev band, like a semi remap again

go for whatever you like both just as good but obviously no cat is alot more free flowin, go for decat if you know you will get through MOT test wink wink, or if not get downpipe with sports cat!

2.5" downpipe with decat.... if mated to the standard exhaust then its no bother to put original back at MOT time.

Then get rear box swapped out for something free flowing and more grunty..
