at a very rough guess id say a few grand.
Ultimately vague but there you go.
All depends on which 1.8t you want. apparently there is something like 63 different engine codes for it! granted probably only about 5 variations. If your gonna bother with that kind of conversion youd really wantto start with the best possible which would be the BAM coded engine out of the TT.
Youd need all the wiring asociated with that engine. Probably the dash and clocks aswell unless you could somehow wire the standard polo clocks up to it! though why you would want to do that i do not know...
you gotta think about break setups drivetrain all that kind off thing. what driveshafts do you use? for instance. I actualy dont know the answer to that question myself...
for the record i know nothing about this conversion just posting the generals.

If you wanted more grunt with less work get yourself a Ibiza GTI lump, hurd it fits stright in with the front axle. Think the GTI's are about 180BHP, not quite a 1.8t but there you go.

cheers guys! bit of knowledge there, yer polow, i spoke to a guy last nyt i bout the same sort of thing but with the mk2 gti golf cus apparantly that is quite an easy fit with about 180bhp......... still pretty fast ! .... but i will have to do a bit of reading up, gives me a bit of food for thought.

hmmm mk2 golf lumps are only available in a tall block engine. I was talkling to a mate the other day about fitting one into a polo. Being a tallblock engine it would probably require a rather large chunk of bonnet to be removed and fabricated or it would be hanging out the bottom pretty f*****g low lol. not that thats a bad thing or anything like looks wise but practicality issues are to be bared in mind.

well what i used to have in mind was a 2.0 16v out of a seat ibiza GTI. Even a 2.08v in the first ibiza gti's as theyre essentially the same as a polo anyway i cant see why it wouldnt fit. worst situation you use the ibiza front end to have a very funky looking vehicle lol.
