First off, I have one of the above cables if I can lend any assistance to Members, please let me know!

Been playing around with VAG.COM on my Mother's 9N and came across the two following 'faults' which I would be grateful for guidance on:

[I have edited the print out showing faults only and editing out sensitive information like Chassis # etc.]

VCDS Version: Release 805.1
Data version: 20081017

Chassis Type: 9N - VW Polo
Scan: 01 02 03 08 09 15 17 19 37 44 45 46 56 76

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 08: Auto HVAC Labels: 6Q0-820-045.lbl
Part No: 6Q0 820 045
Component: Klimaanlage X0840

1 Fault Found:
01596 - Motor for Outside/Recirculated Air Flap (V154)
30-00 - Open or Short to Plus

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 09: Cent. Elect. Labels: 6Qx-937-049-C.lbl
Part No: 6Q0 937 049 D
Component: 0000 BN-SG. 1S34
Coding: 25790
Shop #: WSC 00788

1 Fault Found:
00905 - Fuse for Back-Up Lamps (S40)
37-10 - Faulty - Intermittent

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for the first fault (Auto HVAC) am I correct in my understanding that this relates to the car not being able to correctly regulate temperature? Having Google'd this fault, it seems to me to require some sort of part replacing to 'fix' - and as such time to claim on our VW Extended Warranty? :)

The second fault I am not sure about - can anyone please shed some more light on it?

I hope to book the Polo into VW sometime this week for the Auto HVAC fault to be 'fixed' and want to ensure this problem can be flagg'd up to them at the same time.

Many thanks!

I am using a GENUINE Ross-Tech VAG.COM cable with the latest release of VCDS (805.1).

I went for pressing the unlock buttom to open all the doors, instead of the selective locking, then he turned on the anti-hijack lock so the the doors lock once doing 10mph and unlock once the keys are removed from the ignition.

You can do it so that the horn sounds quitely when you lock and unlock the car.

the anti hi-jack sounds fun..

if someone is in your car and you lock it from outside they can't get out. think it's funny as the alarm then goes off and there stuck.

how much did the vag-com cost if you don't mind me asking?

Glad to have been able to help a fellow Dubber out and to see that you made it home OK :) Pity that the weather was poor, would have really liked to have had a walk round your car - love the colour combo (red w/black wheels)...

Might drag myself to a local meet if time allows ;)

There are a couple of ways you can 'buy' full connectivity for the software - the easiest (and best way IMHO) is to buy one of their genuine cables, then you are guaranteed full functionality and you are free to use it with anyones computer as the cable acts like a dongle.

I bought mine while I was in the USA this past summer - bonus was USD was 2:1 - so was half price :)
