Horrible noise from front wheels

Just recently I have noticed that when going forwards or backwards on full lock (either way) I get a horrible screeching or rubbing noise somewhere from the front of my car.
Sometimes its loud, sometimes quiet but its really got me worrying now as I'm up and down the dual carriageway alot and I'm just hoping its something relatively simple or minor..
Any ideas?

nope, bog standard suspension springs and shocks with 13" bog standard vw alloys

does it sound like its coming from the wheels or the front end i.e near the radiator?

I would say the wheels because sometimes theres a sort of rumbling too but I could be wrong.. I will find somewhere to full lock it and stick my head out the window today.
