Hi Guys,
I've been making some enquiries for bigger brakes for my car. Was gonna settle with the 312mm convo and have J sort it for me before xmas.
However got chatting to a mate who's a mechanic down the pub. He mentioned he's got some serious kit sitting around in his workshop and to pop down if interested.... No halm in havin a look!

Without even offering anything up, 4pot Brembos were clearly not going to fit behind the wheels.

But also has got some brand new AP Racing 4Pots with 2 part disks (floating??) which looked as though may work.
We popped a wheel and caliper off to offer up, and the caliper just bolted on with no modification at all.... couldn't believe it! Apparanty they were supposed to be for a Cupra of some sort anyway.

He's had them sitting around for ages and will let me have them at a more or less giveaway mates rate price.

I've never touched AP stuff before, anyone know if it's any good?.... any ideas anyone? Done a few searches and the there kit to buy looks damn expensive 1k+.

I'm right in saying this would be far better than the 312mm TT setup?

I've got cash for brakes in a couple of weeks, should i snatch his hand off for them?

The MK4 Cupra used AP 4 pots, but they had Seat Sport on them, not AP.

Most of the VAG range use the same mounting points and they are all pretty much interchangeable, so if they fit go for it, AP stuff is top quality gear!

I'm not sure. They are all badged AP.... nothing Seat Sport on them.

They are in a orig black/grey colour at the min, so if I have them will probably get them painted red.

I may go for them... they look a serious bit of kit. Also supprisingly light.

If you are sure they fit behind your wheels then get them bought....

Get your mechanic friend to do all the work...put everything on including putting wheels back on then you know everything is alright...

4 pots superb.... I used them many times before....
