Right i know their winters but i like things to look atleast half decent.. im thinking about spacers.. My Weller Trackstar's are only 5.5jx13, so not very wide with an ET of 32. do you think 20mm spacers would look to odd?. I've not had these on the Polo yet as i need to slip the tyres on the rims and don't have time till the weekend.

If i add 10mm spacers my ET will be 22

20mm 12? to much poke on a not so wide rim?

think it would look daft tbh. just run them normally, there winters.

also i think it would f**k your wheel bearings!

I can't see their being any more stress then dropping my front end 120 tbh. ever changed a front wheel bearing on a polo? Easy as.

you asked for 'some info' and i gave you some.

Think it will look too daft with too much poke on a small width rim. Perhaps ask around for other people pics on them rims.

Dropping the car too much will force problems on handling parts etc as too much strain gets forced onto parts not designed to cater for it.

It may be easy to change a bearing but its a pain in the backside when parts start to wither from excessive strain and having to deal with it after. My car ran 120mm for 6 months before I pruchased it. By the time I took it to service I found plenty of problems. Maybe its just my individual car but you do get problems.

I know i will encounter problems and understand prats will wear prematurely. Replacement parts and working on the dub is no trouble for me as i have all i need at work. I'm not saying things will not wear. I know they will and have seen it happen to other peoples rides. It's the price i'll pay for being 120 lol.

As for poke i agree, the wheels just aint wide enough for that. I think they'll have plently of tuck though. I'll just see how they look when i swap them over Saturday morning. Cheers for the info Noz

No worries, I think you should keep the spacers for summer when the cups are back on! Should look luch better as they have a wide lip.

As long as your ok with any problems and can sort them out easily its not much of an issue.

Well the wheels are on and they dont look half bad. I still think 10mm spacers on the front will help a little. My front end has major tuck.

I think 10mm spacers would make them look better. But agreed on the wear of parts, esp. your wheel bearings. That low and that much extra extension won't be good!

Might be a stupid question, but why do spacers do your wheel bearings in?

They are pushing the weight further out, so putting more strain on them.

Imagine if the wheels were on 4ft spacers, and how much they would bow ad how much strain that would put on the CV joints, bearings and bottom arm. That's what it's doing in a much much milder form. Pretty insignificant as spacers are small, but something to keep in mind.

What sort of damage would putting 20mm spaces on my BBS RXii's do to the car? I think it could do with a tad more poke as they are sort of in the middle between tuck and normal. I think they could benefit from being a bit wider... What do people reckon to them? How much are they anyway?

Big Rhy with the Yellow 6n2 concept had them on the rear of his. he took them off as edition 38. ask if he still has them.

20mm would be fine Darren, I've got 25mm on mine. Just make sure they're hubcentric ones, they'd be extremely dangerous if they weren't at this size, but perfectly fine if they are!

Rob's right, Rhys has got some which he bought for the rear, but I'm not sure what he's doing with them at the moment. He got a really good deal on a set, so it's worth asking him about the details.
