When to change your cambelt

Hey
Just wondering when you guys have changed your cambelt and if there anything I should know about before doing it.

Its 50-60k on the polo, als when ever it gets taken off, change it, any fraying or brittleness, change it.
oh and its not that easy

In the manual it says 40,000 but that may have changed, but mine got done at that time, if you know what your doing bash on, if not hand to a mechanic!

Had mine done at the same point as the pump. Cost me £60. At around 51k. due at around 60k though but saves spending around £200 in a year.

£60 for a cambelt change? f**k me thats cheap! oh and yes its 60k normally! but sooner the better really!

I had the car 3 days and the pump went. They replaced that for free and offered to do the cambelt for free, I just paid for the belt and tentioner!

Every 40k,
If your belt hasn't been changed my now, GET IT DONE.

On my old car I got mine done at 60k and the cambelt tensioner had collapsed, so I was VERY lucky it hadn't slipped and knackered the head.
I'd get it done at 40k like suggested

Same, but mine was at 50k
