Is anyone else's engine running cold in this cold weather?

Like the subject says, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing a temp gauge that rarely gets above the 'warm up' zone in the current cold weather.
The real inconvenience i'm getting is that this obviously means the heater barely works, right at the time when i need it most!! My partner's T25 is also doing the same thing...Who designed a heating system that provides super heated air on hot summer days and luke warm air when it's -4 anyway??!!** We are considering boarding up our radiators until the weather hots up a bit.

Yeah I get this, my car will be perfectly at the right temperature around town at slow speeds. But as soon as I hit the motorway my Temp falls to 70C. Often my car doesn't even warm up fully by the time I hit the motorway because the journey is too short.

Wierd. Mine is fine no problems at all. You may have a dodgy thermostat that is causing over cooling, as the heat should be circulating round the engine until 84C anyhow.

Don't thermostats fail in the closed position generally though?
