Hi,

I have a 2007 1.4S Polo and when i went to start it, the car failed to start from cold. The engine was turning over but no ignition if that makes sense. The only way i could start the car was by pushing the car and starting it in gear. I took it to VW who put it through there machine and couldnt find any faults or "Recorded faults" on the ECU.

The car has only 6.5K miles and has started with no problems since i got it. The problem hasnt occured again but was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem? Or any ideas?

Thanks :?

No idea to be honest...
The only thing that comes to my mind would be battery/spark plugs, but not on a car so new. A dodgy immobiliser chip in your key would make the car turn over without firing...not sure if that would hold true with a bump start. As long as it started fine later, I wouldn't worry too much unless it happens again. It should still be under warrenty though, so at least you're covered from that aspect :)
