on my new rx splits that i have, it says on a bbs sticker on them to fit the tyres from the inside edge only
is this really necessary, and whats the benifits from doing this, surely clamping the wheel down in a machine the other way will just damage the faces?
any help or advice appreciated
cheers
jeff

Re: split wheels ... tyre fitting help
its so as not to damage the shiny side, and the dish may not be strong enough to lever against, go to any alloy wheel place they should have the special wheel machine with loads of wheels on etc and you can clamp the wheel from the outside without damaging!

Re: split wheels ... tyre fitting help
it doesn't damage them, my deep dish wheels off my old car had to have the my stretched tyres put on/removed "upside down", no marks at all on the wheels
