UK-POLOS.NET - THE VW Polo Forum

Hi folks,

im new to the the forum and all that jazz, and Ive got a poorly '99 16v polo. The car has irratic idle revving, going from 800- 2000 rpm. The garage where I took it said I needed a new/recon Throttle Body. My trusty mechanic couldnt find a local breakers with one in stock. I was wondering how hard are they to find?? and if anyone might know someone in the Liverpool/North west area who has parts.

Last question, im i still ok to drive the car if it has idle problems?.. It has never cut out, just sounds rediculous at traffic lights. Would motorway drivng be out of the question?

Doubt it is undrivable, secondly you tried cleaning the TB and then having the TB reset? If the fault is definitely the TB, then VW should sell them otherwise if your after abit more performance you could use a TB of an audi 1.8T, not sure from which engine code. Best bet about the audi TB is to pm Jarno on here his the no.1 expert
