Just looked at some different types of conversions. Question i have is what is the difference between:
1, 1.8T
2, VR6
3, G60
What power differences are there between these engines to.

1.8T comes in 180hp, 225hp, and I think a 150hp also? Very achievable conversion, obviously the 225 is more benificial.
VR6 is something like 175hp? Would make the car extremely front heavy, and purely a conversion just for scene points IMO.
G60 is like 160hp or so? Not really sure how well this goes with the 6N. Must be pretty awesome though. Don't know how much being a left hooker has a difference over the conversion, can't imagine it would affect it though.

So really a 1.8t would be better than the other two. But i suppose that is down to personal choice. G60 are in some corrado's as you know and they sound really nice. I nearly bought one before x mas but didnt have the funds. Dont think a vr6 would go to well being heavy.
Sounds stupid but the t does stand for turbo?

Yeh, well I've always assumed that the VR6 would be too heavy. I've never researched good hard evidence. but it makes sense, you'd need some serious chassis work to get the car to be solid enough.
Yeh T is for turbo. You'd also need to stiffen up the chassis for this, like any conversion. I'd be looking at uprated brakes, large rear ARB, strut braces all round, decent suspension on top of the engine, 'box mounts and shafts.

That is what i thought it stood for. Yeah there is alot to consider. What do you mean by "large rear ARB"? Not sure what ARB stands for. Would you say around the £1000 for it? Depending on where you get it done. I have just found somewhere where the engine is free! I thought that cant be right.

ARB- Anti-Roll Bar. Bar between the suspension legs/bottom arms to stable body roll.
£1000 is highly ambitious, it'll cost you that for the brakes and suspension you need!

It depends, what are you using now? If i were to do it, I would look at upgrading my budget ones, to at least GT hicons or something.

Tuning companies charge around 7.5k for a 1.8T conversion, drive in and drive out.
Expect to pay less than half that if your doing it yourself. But you need a fair amount of knowledge.
