Ive got a 1.0L YES your not seeing things 1000cc bottom of the range(L ess is more)model.
Bought the car brand new from D.C.CROOK sorry i meant COOK(they skanked me with the finance big time)something like 29.9%apr over 5yrs.It would of been cheaper to buy the car using a visa card. Now i know what your thinking why buy a 1.0L?Well the plan was to rip out the Nicky Clarke hairdryer of an engine and squeeze in a VR6.At the time(1998)a VW specialist(Ian Birch)working at the time for Awesome gti had recently done just that transplanted a VR6 engine into a polo.Just for the record it was a 1.0L polo a black one with 17"Schneider rims BEAUTIFUL...and it was the 1st VR6'd polo in the country anyways im going round the houses here back to my biography.Ian Birch left Awesome gti and setup his own buisness DubSport.I had the money for the conversion(£5500)that was for the engine and all the running gear(discs ect.)but he was that pulled out with work that i had to wait 2mths.In the meantime summer had arrived and a few friends had gone out and bought motorbikes(couple of R1s and a Fireblade)and every weekend they would turn up at my house and rub me nose innit by telling me what a cracking day theyve had "art on bikes".So one weekend i finally cracked.Armed with me VR6 engine money i went out and bought meself a Red White and Black 7mths old R6.Then i realised why i stopped riding bikes.I couldnt bloody ride 'em could i.So now ive got a bike im S**tscared to ride and no VR6 money.I persevered with the bike that summer and yes i had a few Bum biting seat o bike moments but i had a right laff "art wit m8s".And me polo well i still took it to Dubsport and spent just short of £4000 on cosmetics(too much too list)but its sat extremely low on 17s and now the old girl could do with a makeover and im thinking bout a bodykit.I dont want her looking like something out of a Mad Max movie.Been looking at the Awesome gti website and when you click on the polo Mk4 section it brings up a picture of a polo with a No. plate reading "On 18s"now the bumper on this polo can anyone tell me whats it off?Im guessing but is it the gti bodykit??Im looking for something like this not too over the top.Do they make a bodykit similar to the R32 for the polo?Any information would be appreciated websites ect.Thankyou for taking the time to read an extract from my life in 1998 me mum says a talk too much anyways thanks...Darren :|

first off all very good read 8)

keep the bike ! loves bikes will be awsome when the weather pics up.

please dont put a stupid bodykit on :( smooth all the 8v bumpers

and just go for a more normal engine in the polo (maybe the gti engine) and tune that.

as above really. in answer to your question yes we can. don't bother. like kyle said, bit of filler and imagination on the stock bumpers can create a much better polo than some gash bodykit thing. if you've got the coin, why not try the old 1.8T conv? it'll probably work out cheaper in the long run than a vr due to the emissions malarky going on at the moment, plus insurance/maintenance would be much cheaper on a more modern engine. damn good engine as well :D

Yes thats the 16v bumper with a big ass splitter on it (from a vr6 i think?). Do what you want m8 its ur car, personally i dont like the 8v bumpers, i prefer the 16v as they are one piece, they look alot smoother.

reiger kit doesnt look that bad and it sounds like its up your street matey! Google it i couldnt tell u where to get it tbh!

Everyone says the VR6 in a polo is the wrong way to go. I say f**k it, sure its heavy and impractical but what a smile youd have in a straight line, nay what a f*****g woody your pants would conceal in a straight line! lol. I think its worth it.

Pursue the dream mate, start saving!!

to me it just doesnt make sense spending.

5k+ on putting the engine a polo.

could buy a golf mk3 vr6 for less than half that.

or 5k could get a mk4 golf 4motion, 4wheel drive recaro leather heated.

dosent make sense to me lol

Yeah but wheres the funin buying it when you can biuld it. Most people spend enought money moddig their cars that they could probably have afforded a nice sports car or something. Built not Bought is what my brother always says, and i totally agree. I think its worth the effort just to do something differently. I say go for it mate.

Out of the bodykits ive looked at on the internet, the 16v standard bumpers look best in my opinion :)
