GTi Unrepairable! 09 on its way!

As few off you may have read my car has been in and out of VW since buying it in december, It was a 57 plate with 3000 miles on it. Got the phone call today to say it unrepairable? so got a cheque on its way with my money back.. really gutted, but off to look at a 58 plate one today s should be happy again!

Seriously? Because of the Power Steering / electrical issues?
I read on your other post you mention a "Power steering pump", but aren't GTIs fitted with Electric motor power assistance?
I suspect your car was poorly wired at the factory and they're struggling to trace the fault.
Buy a MK5 Golf GTI
Better car imo, but they're not without their problems either!

yup gti have an electric pas pump that drives the hydraulics just like a mechanical pump does on the engine !!!
sorry to hear bout it but vw dealers are crap anyhow at diagnosing anything!!

I've seen some sophisticated electric assisted PAS systems where the motor is built into the steering column (no hydraulics at all), but that's too costly for VW

its the cheaper version you refer too with less feel vauxhall use that system on the agila and corsa in the column its crap and the motors burn out, also the punto has it aswell! Our version is alot better !

how the hell can the car be un repairable though , it cant have been as bad as mine from the crash LOL, i think they just done that to keep you sweet it will get fixed and sold on !

Gone for white, same as old one.... so is there changes to the 09 model?
