ll these rims fit my gti?? i dont mind admitting i no absolutly nothing about wheels

lol , so if some one wud be so kind to point me in the right direction, will these fit my polo? im not buying them just wantd 2 no, thanks for the help

Fraid they wont mate unless you get some adaptors. You need 5x100 fitment wheels mate!

Yes mate, adaptors tend to go for about £200 a set ish !

You will need the other way round 5x112 to 5x100 those adaptors convert merc to Audi and not the other way

You were right the first time? you need 5X100 to 5X112 adaptors, like those in the eBay link. Those venom ones are also the same.

WONT THE OFFSET BE ALL WRONG ONCE HES PUT THE ADAPTERS ON (sorry about the caps)

Offset won't be wrong, it will just be different.
For example if you took a wheel which had an ET or 35, and used a 25mm adaptor. It would make the ET10.

so can you have any offset wheel on ur car, iv always thought you had to keep it as close to standard as possiable

Yep, any within reason. The offset is simply a way of telling you how far the wheel will stick into the arch. Keeping offsets as close to standard as possible just means that you are buying wheels that will sit in the arch similar to your standard wheels.
If the ET is higher than your standard offset, the wheel will tuck more into the arch.
if the ET is lower than your standard offset, the wheel will poke more into the arch.
obviously if you have too much poke, you get arch scrubbing. And if you have too much tuck, the wheels will scrub on the arch well, brake cables, strut etc..
