if its a gti, get the h&r ones, they simply sit perfect

im considering finding some gti shocks again and getting them so as to lose the harsher ride coilovers provide as im only sitting at the same height as the h&r setup would give me

JEFF would you say the coilovers are a harsher ride then just springs as im looking to lower my 1.2 but dont wana lose to much comfort for the kids sake

I fitted the H&rs and they are fantastic. ride height is spot on IMO and the ride is bloody good even on our s**t roads on the Island

I also have a little 1.2 and was curious as to ride comfort.

If I get 16 inch wheels or 17 with low profile tyres then I presume that would still make my car quite high.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to decide on whether coil overs or springs are best. Since the cup edition has pretty big wheels then I presume I'll just lower my car to that height as it looks good.

JeffGTI's height is perfect from the photos I've seen of his car when he had the cup edition wheels on.

I have H&R on mines, cant fault them. Look good and stiffins up the drive too which is what you want. Pics on my thread for pics mate

H&Rs on mine too ... ride is good.. not bad like I expected it might be... and the height is spot on....perfect with 17"s

Tomorrow I try some different drop links... get a little banging at slow speeds over bumpy surfaces.... ARB hitting drive shaft ???

Even my Wife comented the other day that the handling is better after she took the Polo for a spin...

In a nut shell - I'm really really pleased with them

I'll probs be looking at getting 15" BBS wheels, so duno if that makes a difference as to what the right springs are? Apologies if I sound like a *** I am blonde and with my last car it was all already modified!

agreed as others £40 plus bet there are some smaller oem ones out there ill have a look at my local unipart

Just to clear things up, alloy size won't (or will neglegibly) affect ride height as long as the correct tyres are used. i.e. the larger the rim, the lower will be the profile of the tyre to keep the rolling radius approximately the same as stock.

how did you get on with the new drpo links J, did they cure your noises?

my drop links have gone, but i have shortened ones already

anyone know if the mongdeo ones fit with coilovers?!

Thread on the drop links started.. yes they fit perfectly .. and all noises gone... 10 mins to fit...
