Leaking oil

I fitted my K&N induction kit for a bit of added noise. Its a 2000 6n2 1.4 mpi. Had it on for a few days before I noticed it was leaking oil. Turns out its got oil coming through the breather hose. I've had to take off the k&n and put on the standard air box but i'd love to refit my k&n. Is there anyway that i can do it and stop it leaking oil?
Also, looking at full systems for my Polo as well, my brother is advising me against JapCan as it wouldnt look good on my pretty standard car. Any ideas as im looking for noise?
