Many probably already know.. but for those that don't...

Ford Mondeo drop links (2000-2003) fit and work perfectly on the Polo 9n3 GTI - lifting the ARB clear of the drive shafts on lowered cars..

Since I lowered using the H&R springs.. more knocks could be heard from the front.. when travelling slowly over bumpy roads....

For sure my standard drop links could have been worn.. but the Mondeo ones are slightly shorter so pulling the ARB out of the way...

Front is now much tighter.. I've been driving over all my close-by speed bumps (they are close and loads of them) ... and all over my closest typically pitted roads... not a single rattle or bang noise..

Well chuffed .. £17.70 well spent

Just saw the topic title a thought you had just posted on the wrong forum as a crazy mistake haha ..... Thought was strage as didn't have you down as a mondeo man!

But yes... soon as you are lowered .. you will be gald of the advice....

How easy are these to fit?

And will i throw out the tracking when doing this?

I'm lowered on H&R springs like you J and notice quite a lot of knocking when going slow round corners when road is rough!!!

J - can you order me a set of these drop links please mate

im looking to go lower on either the gti shocks and h&r setup or lower on my coliovers, i really dont know which to do, but either way, iwill need these

as said before, will changing these throw the tracking out?

2000 - 2003 is the mk3 mondeo correct?

We just called the local motor factors and asked for drop links for 2003 Ford Mondeo...not engine specific.. the only choice for parts was plastic or metal ones.......

5 minute job with impact wrench.... although one of the nuts on mine was seized... so angle grinder came out....

Just take both front wheels off.... then both drop links off... then put new drop links on.. then put new wheels on... simples

Tracking ... Hmmm dont know ... mine needs doing anyway ... dont see why it would change tracking .. only bolts from strut to arb...

The differnce though is amazing.. no more annoying noises.

did you choose metal or plastic ones?

Would this apply to all 9N3 models? Or just the GTi? As I don't know whether the ARBs are the same or not.

Motor factors much cheaper.

Again this morning ... no banging .... just a lovely quiet tight front end... yummy

That's what it's all about though, the shrewd minded mechanics / car nuts know how to pick and choose the best bits from many different cars and it's cheaper than custom parts

All car bits are made by the same OE manufacturers anyway, all VW, Ford, etc etc do is piece them together in their factories and sell them to us with a huge mark up

They're the ones Chris advised me (whitepologti).
