arch rolling

if u get ur arches rolled or flared does that mean u have to get rid of ur arch linners? if so does loosing the arch linners affect anything?

i had my rear arches flared and the front arches rolled 2 days ago

the black plastic lining stuff attached to the inside of the arch attached to the bumpers with torques screws.

how low is ur car and wat size wheels u got? u got n e rubbing now u got the work done?

thinking of lowering my car more.

ohhh the inside bits. yep they cut them off so it can be flared, the fronts same so it can be rolled.
It doesnt have any affect at all. I still have rubbing on the fronts becuase im abt 75 mm low on 8x15 et25.
Im going to cut more of the plastic towards the bumper and take some screws off, after that nomore rubbing (hopefully)

whenu mean cuting pastic do u mean the arch lining that connects from the front bumper to the car isnt gone os some of it is cut away but not all of it?

no no, just the archlinner connecting to the bumper. the guy told me he will just take some of it where he will be rolling the arch. i could be giving you a wrong information as mines a gti wich has got plastic seal under the arches to protect from dirt and rust, is yours the same??

dunno but based on the fact the gti and mk5 are the same chassis i would of thought they'd be the same. so some of the plastic arch lining has been cut away and some is still there?

i suppose if some is cut thn itmeans it can still be attached to the bumper and hold the bumper roughly in place so it dont flap around.

where did u get them done and how much?

yep theres still plenty of seal left in the arche. To be honest with polos they have bloody strong attached bumpers, well with my front gti bumper i have tried to take it off for more then 2 hours still i was no where near it so i dnt think it will be flopping abt.
Actually just speak to www.archenemy.co.uk These our the guys who have done my arches thanks to tim-gti otherwise i was still looking around. Im happy with the work they have done

They come all the way to your doorstep and for flaring the rear arches and rolling the front arches they have charged me

thought u might of used them, i saw them advertised on here the other day and looked on theyre site.

when i get money i might see about getting arch work one.... also wanna get body work done. know n e one that can do it cheaply but a good job?

well my cars going to the bodyshop on monday they do pretty gd job and cheap aswell

thats not far from the place. Let me start by saying that im really thankfull to noz his a member here too. If you look at his polo you can see the work that has been done on it, i think its pretty gd .
smoothing the front bumper

roof resprayed black

all that for £220 he quoted me other places have ask around £700, due to that there can be a slight quality wise but since i met up with noz and saw his car ill definatly wnt have any worries.

ur having a laugh right? £220? that cant be right can it? thought it was about £200 just for a respray on the bumpers....

the work i would want done is:
respray and maybe sanding on bumpers (when complete)
bonnet welded and sprayed.
boot vw recess welded and maybe even dehandled if he can do that as well. i got te kit attached but not sure y it dont work properly.
all 4 doors repainted with holes welded over.
maybe even black sprayed on mirrors and b pillar....

does this guy work for someone or is it like a out of hours work job he does cause for that price it seems to cheap.

lool thats what i said to noz i sed u must be joking but when the guy gave me the quote i was suprised
I mean to be honest with you it wont be the same as the professional bodyshops work but im gonna go ahead with it.
I mean obviously i woudnt go for a poor quality job after i seen ma mates car he done a really nice job plus hes been using his car for gd 2 years like that now no cracks no problems what so ever. the place is at eastlondon at limehouse
