Does anyone know the size of the discs on a 1.6 sport? and if they can be easily upgraded? many thanks.

Hi Matt

you have three choices m8. 1st unlikely to be this size 239mm vented. 2nd 256mm the most likely of them again vented and finally 288mm same as the gti again vented. if you are looking to upgrade to gti spec then if its the 288mm then straight swap of the calipers with replacing the retaining bolts 4 of them just for safety as under alot of pressure. if it is either of the other twothen you will need to change the hub carrier on each side to gti spec and fit dics/pads,calipers and get the tracking done once complete. you may need to change the steering ends (ball joints ) and replace the nut on each of them ...comes separate from vw unbelievable but true. pm me if you want any more info.

get a tape measure and that will tellyou which it is you have and you can take it from there. good luck.

my standard front setup is for sale 288mm gti calipers discs and pads plently left on em £250

i would have them but mine arent 288mm and id have to get other hub carriers and dont have many places round here of where i could get them lol .
